My name is Abel Amare. I am a concept developer, image consultant, and stylist based in the Washington, DC Metropolitan area. The name amare.studio was coined to represent a small part of my heritage and share my goal for clients that I collaborate with. As a Latin derivative, ‘Amare’ means “Love”. In Amharic, a language spoken in Ethiopia and my first langauge , ‘Amare’ means “He became handsome”. Styling and designing with care is my namesake. 

I come from humble beginnings. While attending an expensive university full of students from affluent families, I became aware of the influence self presentation has when interacting with others. My campus became the first stage to experiment with high fashion looks without high fashion price tags. I quickly learned to break contemporary barriers and cleverly utilize fit, color, and shape that best worked with my 6’4” frame.

 Curating concepts and clothing for various projects awards me with the opportunity to educate and empower others. Through a genuine appreciation for self-presentation and the science behind design, I have been able to express myself creatively, build a savvy approach to style and the luxury aesthetic, and learn the art of visual storytelling. Style is more than just clothes. Style is communicating to the world without words.
